Bolton's 20-year-old left-back made deadline day switch to Old Trafford - having expected to re-join Plymouth Argyle.
Andy Kellett was expecting to re-join Plymouth Argyle when he was shocked to discover he would be heading to Manchester United on loan.
Bolton left-back Kellett, 21, moved to
Old Trafford late on deadline day in a move that saw The Reds' Under-21 Swiss right-back Saidy Janko head to Neil Lennon's Championship side.
Janko has joined United goalkeeper Ben Amos at the Macron Stadium, however it is Kellett whose name is in the limelight.
His face "was a picture" when told Bolton had "some good news and some bad news" for him, having hoped to link up with John Sheridan in Devon.
"We’ve got some good news and some bad news."
The full-back preferred to hear the bad news first.
"You’re not going back to Plymouth," was the reply.
Braced for the worst, he waited for the good news.
"You’re going to Manchester United," Parker said.
Kellett became the third and final arrival at United in the winter window, following Victor Valdes and Sadiq El Fitouri.
