DISCOVERING THE REAL YOU

One of the greatest problems facing humanity today is the ability for them to truly know who they are. I used the word ‘really’ because there are some people who already have a glimpse of who they are, but they lack the confidence or believe to identify with whom they are. It has been popularly said that there is nobody that is born without a gift or potentials but the problem now is the ability for them to recognize the gift or ability that was given to them by God. The time that was spent on self-discovery was never wasted to those who had discovered themselves. In proverb chapter 18: 16; the bible says ‘a man's man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.

Now, let’s analysis that
scripture according to the key words that are written inside. A gift is that thing that is giving willingly by a person to another person. When we bring that to the above scripture, it means God had freely given us gifts without collecting anything from us. Now the question now is: are you ready to identify that gift? More will be said on this in the following chapters. The second key word there is ‘room’. When you know who you are, opportunity will always find its way to you. That is what room here stands for. People will always desire who you are and are always ready to pay for it. The third key word there is ‘great men’.  One thing you must remember is that great men are those who have taken time to  discover themselves and make good out of it. For you to be able to stand before such people, you too must have discovered yourself. What you discovered about yourself will attract you to those great men because they now also know that you have what they do not have which they need to have.

When you know who you really are, you cannot go into the presence of great men and come out as a mean man. When you rob minds with the great, you too must surely be great. Brothers and sisters, I think it is time we discover who we are so that we can benefit from who we are. It might take time to know who you are but when you get to know it, you will die with the memories of who you are-jolly.

Self-discovery is the key to all kinds of greatness. The day you know who you are, so many things around you will change. It has been rightly said that the graveyard is the richest place on earth because in it there are so many untapped talents. That statement is true but you as an individual should endeavor not to make that place the richest place. This can only be done if we take our time to know who we are. Have you ever imagined if bill gate had not discovered who he was many years ago? You can imagine what would have happened to the world of software and other computer-related application that was developed by him. Imagine if Michel Faraday had not discovered electricity; the world would have been a boring place to live and survive in. Imagine if Thomas Edison had not created the electric bulb; the world would have been feeling with darkness. It will interest you to know that Thomas Edison failed 10, 000 times before he could invent the electric bulb that you, and I are enjoying today.

These people discovered who they were and through their self-discovery, they gave other people the means to survive. It is a dangerous thing for you to die without the knowledge of who you are because so many people that would have earned their living through yourself discovering, will also suffer for it.
